Ghana’s Black Queens put up a strong performance against Mauritius on Thursday, thumping the side 3-0 in the first leg of their second-round tie of the 2028 Olympic Games qualifiers.

On the matchday, Abigail Kim opened the scoring in the 16th minute before Alice Kusi doubled Ghana’s advantage eight minutes later.

The Black Queens continued to dominate and added a third goal in first-half stoppage time, with Benedicte Simon finding the net from long range.

Despite an improved performance from Mauritius, the hosts could not find a way back and suffered a big defeat at the end of the contest.

The three-goal advantage gives Ghana a significant boost ahead of the second leg, with the team now firmly in control of the tie.
